It's hard to believe it has been five years since I shared some amazing work of a local long-arm quilter. It also happens to have been that long since I made anything I felt was worthy of her work. Here is an ABC wall hanging that she brought from oops to awesome and here is a quilt I did for our daughter's wedding. Angie is just incredible. You can see more of her work on her Facebook page.
Last year for Kadence's 8th birthday I made a banner using Sarah Jane's Children at Play fabric line, as well as a desk that I upcycled from an old sewing machine cabinet.
She was so pleased! Then she started asking for a new quilt. So I used the same fabrics to make a dresden plate quilt. I felt it was *almost* worthy of Angela's finish work, so even tho she is rumorerd to have a six month waiting list, I took it to her a couple months ago and asked real nice if she could get it done by the first of September. A couple weeks ago she messaged me asking, "How do you want this quilted?" and I could think of no other reply than, "Fabulously!" I'm sure you'll agree--she filled the bill!
I just picked it up yesterday and still need to bind it but just couldn't wait to share!
I'm glad I backed it in white so the work really stands out.
I made it extra long so it can go over a pillow and look more finished on a made bed.
Well, I better get busy binding it so I can wrap it and gift it to her this weekend. I hope she'll love it for a long time to come :-)
