This has been rather a tragic year for my family. It all started when my dear sister passed away in the hospital due to cancer on January 2. She'd hardly found out she had it--in her lungs and her brain--just two months prior. It was a whirlwind of a time for those down in Southern CA caring for her. I think for some their heads must still be spinning. This is how I'll always remember Cindy:
She was about 12 years old and modeling the hat she would wear as a bridesmaid in my wedding of 1975. She grew up to become a wonderful woman and the most loving mother of her two sons who are only now 12 and 15. It seems so unfair for her to have been taken so early but I guess it's not for us to question. I don't remember how she told me...maybe during our phone conversation from her hospital bed on her last birthday...but she said she'd like to be remembered every year by buying fresh flowers and bringing them home...not taking them out to some depressing old cemetery. So Happy Birthday Cindy. I thought about you all day. You will always be loved and missed.
She's beautiful. So sad.
