Today's reminder to live each day to the fullest was had at a Celebration of Life memorial for Rick Miller, who spent this entire year fighting a good fight against cancer. We walked in (late) to a packed house honoring Rick, who was so clearly loved by his wife Eve, their two young sons, and many family. Everyone should be so lucky when they die. It really struck me hard when I looked at the handout with his birthdate under his picture-he was one day less than one year older than me. Tragic and sad, especially during the holidays.
We then went back to the ongoing Artisans fair and bought some copper fairies as gifts. This one pictured above, The Dragon Rider, I bought for myself. I'm sure because of the timing it will be an often reminder of Rick and the full and meaningful life he lived. I've been buying these fairies for gifts and myself (I think I have four here now) for years. I really love them. You can buy one too if you like. http://www.copperfairies.com/
Here is the artist's husband selling from their booth, which is a neat old wooden gypsy caravan'wagon. Bad photo I know...but hopefully you get the idea. They're magical!
My son had his first booth at an artisan fair yesterday. Photography is his main love and he had lots of nature prints and some made into cards and he then tranfered iconic images of our hometown, Fullerton on to tiles to make magnets and trivets and wall hangings. He did well! So thanks to you for supporting your local talents!
