Jen, it's my belief that Christmas time can be just the salve that we need to get us through hard times. Christ knows your pains and sorrows. He's suffered the same. Celebrate what this season is all about and love your family and support them. It's okay to rejoice in all that is good and joyful at this time of year. Although, I understand how hard it is to tell your heart that. May peace and rest come to you this Christmas season. Your a kind soul.

we also will be having a hard and fractured Christmas...I'm sorry that things are not well in your home and family.

Oh blessed Jen I am so sorry you hurt, please know that I am praying for you and peaceful outcomes you are a treasure in this blog world and don't you ever forget that!!!

Jen, Sending you some cyber-hugs and will keep you and your family in my prayers. I've been in the same situation and I can truly understand how difficult this must be. If you ever need someone to talk to, send me an email or give me a call.

Take time to have some fun for yourself. Those family members would want you to. Like the other comments, there will be some hard times ahead so take those times when the opportunity is there to have some enjoyment. You are in my thoughts during this difficutl time.

Sad doings with you girl.

The other two commenters were more eloquent than I could be - but I feel the same. Big hugs.

I'm sorry life is throwing all this stuff at you at one time. There's never a really good time for life's upsets, but the holidays are really hard. One day at a time.....

Don't feel guilty about doing something fun for yourself. If it helps you get through your day, do something fun. Life's too short.

Ah, I'm sorry that you are in for a roller-coaster ride. I know what you mean about feeling guilty for having fun, but since I've "been there, done that" with all four parents (in-laws) I can tell you, grab onto whatever fun you can whenever you can, because you will be miserable enough times before it's all over.

The kids look adorable, and I'll bet they were good cheer to your dad.
