Greetings from the San Joaquin Valley in central CA. Wowee. It's HOT down here. 104 today. I love being able to see my folks and all, but I have to say I am looking forward to heading back home tomorrow!
My mother is a quilter extraordinaire and we always have a great time shopping for fabric and admiring her wonderful finished and in-progress works. She recently got lucky at a going out of business sale and brought home this spinning cabinet for less than $50
Don't know which I'm more envious of--the piece or everything that's in it!
I have a quilt up on the Moda BakeShop blog tonight. You may find an idea or two in it that you want to try. And if you feel inclined to make an ABC quilt yourself, please check my etsy shop and maybe decide to buy the letters precut. I have lots of color and pattern options available. And check on the right sidebar here (scroll all the way down)--I've created a gallery of ABC quilt ideas. :-) I also listed a few vintage fabric pieces on etsy that I don't imagine will last long.
Well, it's almost midnight. Caleb and I just got in from seeing the new Harry Potter movie. 500 mile drive home tomorrow. Thank goodness for my iPod and his DS!
Have a super weekend. jen
Why is it that all the really quaint that we associate with the "olde world" i keep finding in the UDA and not IK where I am. Well good luck and thanks for sharing.

What part of the San Jouquin valley I grew up in Tulare. I miss that part of the country but yes it is very hot there in July and Aug.

WOW Jen!! Love the cool cabinet and all the wonderful fabrics. I'm going to hop over and check out MBS. Guess what...I am actually planning to start a rag quilt. Gotta start easy, and that seems like a great first project.
