We successfully completed the fabric swap. I've just spent two days being hard headed about I KNOW that I took a picture of a full box including the fabric brooches I made for everyone but nope, can't find the picture to post here. I've already started using some of my fabrics from the swap. It came in handy that they were 5 inch squares...I needed several more 5 inch strips to finish off this quilt:
I was trying real hard to not duplicate any piece (in the strips, not the center squares), but as you can see there are doubles of a few. I cut so many strips in fact, that I've enough left over to put together three complete kits to sell on etsy. They will be 4 blocks by 6 blocks for a nice crib size quilt (instead of this larger 6x7 size which just about fits a twin bed). And there are NO duplicates in the kits. I'll show this one more time after I get it finished off here in the next day or two.
The beading project that I find myself always working on when watching tv these days is kinda time-consuming but I really like the end result and I like how I'm able to use some of my vintage rhinestone brooches that I've collected .
They look prettier against skin. Here our buxom (5-month pregnant) Melissa is modeling for me
I hope other people will like them...it's hard sometimes to be objective about something you made. I'll give 'em a go on etsy as well and see how they do. For now I just keep makin' them!
Also I redesigned some sliding tin treasure holders (turned necklaces into pins) and lowered the prices, too. Have sold a few but have a few left. They're pretty cute, I think.
Oh, and here's the Bits & Pieces collage I did for Beth...She posted pics on her blog as well. Don't forget to sign up for her fab vintage sewing give-away!
Okay, better go check on the boy...no rest for the weary! Hope everyone has a great fourth tomorrow. We'll go to the festivities in Old Town and I'll be sure to take pictures this time. Until then! xo
