Hi! Did you think I disappeared? I've been doing a good job of staying off this computer and actually gettin stuff done around here. Have spent day and night for over a week now completely redecorating the kitchen. It was a lot of fun. I'll share pics soon. For today's post I thought I'd hop in on a challenge that I serendipitously came upon a week or so ago. A friend sent me a card that had some way cool stampage on the front. I went hunting for the stamps (found them here) and one of the sheets was sold out so in my continued hunt I came across the artist's blog here which led me to her other blog here where she posts little 'crusades'... prompts to get us up and 'out' in front of each other. I like what I see so far! Gee whiz...Michelle Ward; I feel outright lazy lookin at what'all you get done. Three blogs, a street-team member AND a faboo line of rubber stamps. You go, girl! Okay, so the current 'crusade' is to share a collection. I am currently in L*O*V*E with cotton fabric from Japan. Thank goodness I found Mariko and Kelly over at superbuzzy a few months ago or else I'd still have several hundred dollars to my name! ;-) I didn't 'stage' these photos. I just L*O*V*E the fabrics so much on their own that I assume you will, too.
These three are just sweet and go so nicely together. I was thinkin stuff like
these when I bought them I suppose.
These cars and houses and trees and ladybugs are more'n likely destined to be part of a baby boy quilt (or two).
I actually bought these sweet panels before I saw the following pillow pic. I was thinkin small baby quilts but may need to toss in a couple pillow as well. Sweet!
This is three coordinating pieces. The one in front I've used before on a purse (that I carried every day til I just wore it out). I find the literal translations of american stuff on these japanese fabrics to be very charming. I also recently used this in a girl's outfit.
This is way cuter in real life...just haven't taken the time to get better pics (I've got a couple of local models I can use...will wait til I've got more things made up).
You may remember when I posted these a few months ago? Very handy fabric. Rows and rows of border. Here's how I ended up using the aqua piece (this'll also serve as a sneak peek of the kitchen redo)
This next one is super cool in my opinion. Shown are the two different edges of one yard of fabric.
My local quilt guild is participating in a national challenge in 08 and this would work well in the theme they've asked us to make quilts in. It remains to be seen if I actually come up with something to submit.
I'll close this post with just a couple more pics of 'no plan in mind but I should buy it just in case' pieces. :-D
I really do L*O*V*E this stuff. It costs a good bit more than regular cotton you'd buy locally, but I'm sure you'll agree it's not stuff you typically can find locally. I keep thinkin' I want to take it to the monthly quilt guild group and show them what they've been missing, but am afraid I might be steppin on the local shop owners toes? Hmmm. Well, for now I think I'll head back up to the sewing machine and see what's speakin to me today!
Ohhh I could just melt!! These fabrics are tooo sweet!! The pillow!!! AHHH!! And the lil outfit!! Oh my gosh!! does it come in big girl size? toooo sweet!!! Let me know if you ever wanna swap a pillow or two for cake art!! I am sooo down!! : )

Oh those fabrics are YUMMY!!! I love them all and would have such a hard time deciding what I wanted to use first! The little pillow is just the cutest, and the dress is ADORABLE!!! LOVE the kitchen valence too. Glad you found the crusade. I keep thinking about participating, but haven't done any picture taking of my collections. Maybe this weekend...

You really "seam" to be happy with all of your fabrics, quilting and sewing. I think that is terrific. You have a good eye (and patience) for it. The fabrics are darling. Keep it up!!

Love that little outfit! Too cute.
I follow the crusades but have never actually got off my butt and completed one. Need to make that a goal. Maybe next month.
Love everything you've been doing. Fun, fun, fun.
