Totally random and in no particular order:
Lovin' the new digital stuff at 2 peas and scrap artist. 99% of the new banner above is made with Sande Krieger's kits at 2peas. I sure have fun playin with that stuff. In the photo of me (age 4 I think) I'm sportin a new Toni perm and my ALL TIME favorite shirt. It was white eyelet with apple green trim and up until I was in my 20's I had dreams of reaching into the drawer of my maple 6 drawer chest and pulling out that shirt that still fit. :-) I wish I could clone myself...I have about three different crafts I want to be doing RIGHT NOW and this house could sure use a cleaning as well. Yet here I sit! Oh. Also figured out how to add a Flickr 'badge' (those rotating photos of my projects to the right). It was fun going through my library of past projects last night to creat the folder. Wow. I sure am across the board when it comes to crafting. I might actually could get real good at somethin if I'd just stick with somethin for a while!
So they have bottle brush trees at the $ store. Since they were a Christmas item they're now 50cents. I bought all 7 that my store had and don't you know I'll try real hard to make 'em look this good by next year! (this one cost $22)
I was checking out the flickr photos of a fellow blogger (laura dodson) and was reminded that I wanted to make some bunting/banners. She does some real cute ones. I'd made one out of paper (shown here before the guest room turned blue)
but I really do like the look and longevity of fabric better so here's one I made this morning:
Each 'flag' is about 6x7 inches. Next time I'll pick a different font (it's the same font used as the 'what's new' in the new banner...too many curves, etc to be cuttin and sewin around) and maybe not even satin stitch the letter edges 'cause there's no way in the world I could wholesale these considering how long it took. I can easily see how I could lose the passion for what I do if I keep looking at things like that. Hmmm...
OH. I've found a good motivation for weight loss this year. Aside from being able to wear clothes and not hate myself. :-) There's a scrap/art cruise to Alaska in mid-august with a terrific line-up of artist instructors. I'm in! Check it out here: sweetpeas cruise. SO COOL!
Okay. Almost noon and no sight of that clone I was wishin for so better get on up and start this day. The last one of 2006! If you have plans to go out tonight, BE SAFE!
Love the banners. Oh I can't believe you are going on that cruise. I was looking at it myself and thinking how AWESOME it would be!!! I've always wanted to cruise Alaska, and I am dying to meet Catherine!! I hope you have a FANTASTIC time!!!!
