Children's children are a crown to the aged. Proverbs 17:6
The above bible verse was attached to a cup of dirt and worms (crumbled oreos and gummy worms) that Caleb brought home from Kindergarten on Friday. :-D I can't think of anything truer to sum up the joy these little people bring us, other than this Scottish proverb that I've been hanging on to for a scrapbook page: Sometimes perfect love does not come til the first grandchild. :-D Anyway....here's a couple of recent pics of the little darlings.
Caleb looking all dapper and grown up for his first day at Redwood Christian School.
Miss Kadence at her first birthday party yesterday:
Here's a 3-generation pic with mommy and proud papa John:
Was a fun day..Lots of presents and people. Poor little girl was rather overwhelmed with it all. Really just wanted to be left alone to play with the first toy she'd opened. I didn't get a shot of the mountain of presents. I hadn't seen anything like it since her baby shower, come to think of it. I humbly offered a photo album as a gift. Here's a link to see pics of it if you're so inclined: Kadence's ABC album
The drive there is beautiful but not a lot of fun--basically three hours of winding through the forest. Here's a shot I took on the drive home at dusk:
Lots of fires up in there this summer. Had no idea really til we drove through there. Kinda depressing---acres of blackened toothpicks. Guess it's part of nature tho'.
Will close with this pic of some quite lovely dahlia's I got at the Farmer;s Market a couple days ago. Almost as fabulous as the Heirloom tomatoes I've been gobbling up every week. Sure will miss those!
Until next time....
Wonderful pics Jen - gorgeous children! Have I told you before that our fireplaces are almost identical?? Uncanny.

I can't believe how fast Caleb is growing! He looks like a little man. Wow, time flies.
I loved looking through the Kadence album. What a special keepsake. Hope it is appreciated.
