Sorry...you'd have to be reading from the bottom up to realize this is my third post today. Been so long since I've checked in with anybody ...I reckon there's a thing or two new that may be of interest.
We are complete and utter American Idol watchers this season. We even went to see American Dreamz last weekend when it opened...pretty much all by ourselves (not getting good reviews). I swear, if Kelly Pickler doesn't finally get voted off tonight, I'll...I'll... I'LL HURL!!! Dangit. She's starting to look uncomfortable about still being there. Kinda like Chicken Little (Kevin) was looking the last couple of weeks that he was still on. I even voted last night. Three times for Chris. GO CHRIS!! YOU ROCK!! :-D
I haven't smoked in almost three months. I'm still afraid to say "I quit smoking three months ago" because I know how vulnerable I probably still am to going back, but so far; I find cigarettes quite disgusting. Oh my...the way people smell in the grocery store, or the way Melissa smells when she comes in here from her car...I feel like sending an apology letter to everyone I've ever known for stinking so bad!!! UGH. The reek on smokers alone is enough to make me never want to smoke again, aside from the obvious: more money in my wallet, more time in my day, more lung capacity, etc. So; woo hoo for me! I've heard sometimes you have to try ten times before it finally works. Guess this was my tenth try at quitting.
I would complain about the weather, but the recent pics I'm about to post feature amazing blue skies. Honestly tho, it has seemed like the rain will never stop. We're even considering moving away, like so many people up here seem to be doing. We just want warm once in a while. Santa Fe New Mexico looks pretty good. We may go check out that neck of the woods soon. Just to see what it's like.
I/we continue to do as much as we can with Caleb around here. I figure it beats sitting in front of the tv constantly. We joined the gym about 8 months ago and have never been once, but starting this week Caleb and I will be using the indoor pool at least a couple times a week. On Saturday we went down to the wharf for some Eureka's 150th Birthday celebration. They had a couple of visiting pirate ships in, and some vintage cars parked there. Pretty lowkey if you ask me! Here's a pic of Caleb in front of an old fire truck
This weekend's exciting event is the Annual Rhododendron parade. Stayed tuned! ;-)
Kudos on the quitting smoking!

Congrats on the 'not smokin' thing. I know it must be so hard to stop, but I'm glad it seems to be better for you this go-round.
I'm with you on the Kellie thing. I thought she was so cute and talented, but that last song was just beyond boring and she needed to go. I am rooting for Chris too. He is the most consistant, and such an amazing talent. I really like Elliot too, but I just don't think he can win.
If you are lookin for somewhere warm, you can always come done to Florida!!!
